The Expedition route

Throughout 2007, the key elements from the Co-existence of Civilizations process will travel around the world, visiting several countries, institutions, and organisations with the aim of setting a new agenda for global co-existence.

First stop Copenhagen, Denmark: Nordic Council, Scandinavia and the Baltics
The Nordic Council was the first to receive the Baton with the General Assembly of the Nordic Council on October 31st to November the 2nd 2006 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Here, five prime ministers and five foreign ministers of the Nordic countries came together with three prime ministers of the Baltic countries to put co-existence on the Nordic agenda by discussing possible initiatives to strengthen this process within the Nordic region.

Second stop Europe: The Strategic Foresight Group
The Baton visits the European Parliament in February 2007, when the Strategic Foresight Group put co-existence on the European agenda at the Third International Roundtable on Deconstructing Terror.

Third stop Cairo: Al Ahram Centre of Strategic and Political Studies
The Expedition plans to hit the Middle East during 2007 with a visit to Al Ahram Center of Strategic and Political Studies in Cairo, Egypt.

To follow the travel of the Baton, please see the world map below.

NB: More stops to be added throughout 2007.
Partners in Singapore, Malaysia, Egypt, Jordan, and the US have so far been invited to receive the Baton as well.
